It started with one simple question a lot of us parents have: why can't we wash our kids' rugs at home? That was enough to set Lorena Canals on a journey to find a solution. Her designs are stylish and practical — made from natural cotton, machine washable, and a new standard in the world of rugs and home textiles.

Today Lorena Canals works out of Barcelona and New York, with products handmade in their own facilities in India where they have full control over quality and best practices. Their designers work side by side with 120 artisans who handle every detail of an elaborate handmade process. The brand prides itself on quality at every step — from the finest raw materials to socially responsible labour practices. A nursery funded by the SAKULA PROJECT now has 120 boys and girls attending, and continues to grow year after year.

Cotton is used to create this rug, giving it soft qualities ideal for everyday living. Cotton is breathable, soft underfoot, and easy to maintain — making it a favourite for family homes. As a natural, renewable fibre it's hypoallergenic and durable, so with proper care it lasts for years.

Care Instructions

- Machine wash separately on a cold, delicate cycle (machine capacity 13 lbs or more)
- Do not use a machine with a centre agitator, as it may damage the rug
- Use a mild detergent; no softeners or bleach
- Select a low spin speed if the rug has braids, fringes or pom poms
- Don't leave the wet rug in the washer, as colours may run
- Tumble dry at low temperature
- Avoid continuous exposure to the sun
- A rug pad is recommended to prevent slippage
