Every summer, I am more inspired in infusing our home with a laid-back and bohemian atmosphere. Our vacation and Netflix's travel shows bring us so many inspirations from vacations homes in Mexico, Costa Rica and Hawaii. It's all about opening the windows and creating a space in the home that continuous with outdoor spaces.

One of the easiest ways to achieve a boho summer vibe is by incorporating rugs into your decor. With their versatile designs, textures and colors, rugs can transform your living spaces into a cozy and inviting retreat. In this blog post, I want to explore some creative rug ideas to help you create a boho summer vibe that brings warmth and coziness when your family and your guests are home.

As part of the kid-friendly blog post theme we have been introducing here, I will share with you rugs that are not just aesthetically pleasing but also durable and suitable for a household with children and pets.

1. Natural fiber rugs

I am introduced to vibrant colours and geometric patterns of kilim rugs from one of the design shows on Netflix and forever indebted to it for the look of my bedroom. These flatweave rugs not only brighten up a room, it is also durable and easy - to - clean surface for children to play on. You can also place a kilim rug in your living room to create a focal point that reflects your boho spirit.

4. Round rugs

Round rugs are a beautiful addition to any boho summer - inspired space. Whether placed in the center of the living room or under a reading book in the bedroom, round rugs bring a whimsical touch to your decor. If you look for the ones with braided textures or tassel details, they will add an extra charm to your home.

5. Playful patterned rugs

Adding a pop of personality in your kids' playroom and bedroom is also one way to enhance your home decor. You can also choose rugs with stars, animals and flowers to add their curiosity.
