Cleaning & Care Instructions

• Wash separately at 30 degrees maximum (capacity 6kg or more)
• Use front load washing and dryer machine only. Avoid top load washing and dryer machine as fibres might get caught in the centrifuge and damage the rug
• Use a gentle cycle and mild detergent without bleach
• Tumble dry at low temperature. Do not leave the wet rug inside the washing machine as colours may run or stain
• Avoid continuous exposure to the sun
• Do not worry if lint appears as this is residue fibres produced during cutting
• During the first few days, sweep the rug with a stiff broom in the direction of the plush
• Use a vacuum cleaner regularly. We do not recommend the use of robot vacuum cleaners
• If you find a long or loose thread, cut it with scissors. Never pull it
• Keep away from fire
• Enjoy the rug and let your kids get messy!
• Rug pad is recommended to prevent slippage and provide additional support

Love the look and softness of rug but sheds...for years

We got this rug in 2020 for our nursery. it is SO soft and cute. But over the years no matter how many times we have washed it, vacuumed it, it still endlessly sheds. It has definitely lost of lot of it's "plushness". I was hoping over time the shedding would stop...but 4 years later I think it is time we give up.

I'm sorry about the experience you're having with the OHH cotton rug. The OHH cotton rugs are made using an extremely soft high quality cotton. It does have to be treated with care, which means vacuuming on the lowest setting possible without bristles. It also means when washing it in the machine, to use cold water on gentle cycle and also drying it on mild heat on delicate cycle.

Given what you've described and the volume of fibres you're extremely, it sounds like the fibres are being 'pulled' from the base due to either of the above reasons.

What I see would be useful to our customers is to provide more precise care instructions around how to care for our cotton rugs. These rugs are designed to last in your home for more than 10 years, so the care process is an important factor that contributes to its longevity. I will take this feedback and have the team create better content to share with our customers.

Love this rug

I was looking for an attractive, child friendly rug for a long time before I came across rugs by roo on Pinterest. This rug feels so luxurious underfoot and I love the aesthetic. It really pulls our nursery together and I love not worrying about any potential toxins in the fiber. I was also surprised by how quick I received it considering I’m in the us. Highly recommend for baby/kid rooms.

Dotty White Washable Area Rug

I was looking for a soft, washable rug for our second baby’s nursery in this particular pattern. I was hesitant to purchase it because I saw other rugs for less but they were synthetic and non-washable. At the end, good quality is worth the price. It arrived faster than expected and so far I an loving the material and how well its made. Not going back to purchasing cheap synthetic rugs anymore!

This washable rug is exactly what I wanted for our nursery. I was a little concerned about the shedding comments but haven’t experienced that at all. So happy with how it looks!

I really like this rug, but wondering if the shedding issue as described by the two other reviews has been rectified yet? Also where can I find the bedding/pillows from the picture with the black and pink and polka dot bedding, rainbow wall art ?

To answer your question, yes, we shared the shedding situation with the owner of Oh Happy Home! and she explained that the cotton used in her rugs are super soft and that it is important to follow the care instructions that come with the rug. We recommend a wash before first use and to vacuum on the lowest suction power.
